AFter updating yesterday, I notice that when resuming from screensaver, sometimes my screen is super washed out. I either need to put it back in screensaver and out again, or I need to reassign my color profile.

I was just curious if this has happened to anyone else?

My iBook is fine with 10.3.4. I always repair permissions after any update. You might try that first.

I did that, no luck..

do you have hot corners enabled?

I cant quite figure it out, its almost as if when the screen reloads from coming out of the screensaver, it doesnt load up the color profile, if that is even possible.

but like i said, putting it back in screensaver and then taking it out again fixes it, but it is still annoying?

I do have hot corners enabled and I haven't seen any problems yet. I dunno what else to suggest....I sure someone here will come up with something. Are you using on of Apples screen savers or a third party one? Might try changing that.....

I have similar issues with my 12" iBook G4/800.

It must be some kind of conflict between Quartz and the new graphics drivers(It seems that Quartz 'forgets' everything Colorsync when it does gamma-fades on the Radeon 9200??).

The effect is quite noticeable when using the 'standard' screen saver, if you keep a close eye on the Apple logo when you test the screen saver you can clearly see that it 'shifts' in colourhue, some times(1 of 3 or less) times the altered colors are kept at other times not(If they are kept you get the 'washed out'/'uncalibrated' look, in my case i get too much blue and a bit 'foggy'(Low contrast)
screen).

The issues has been reported to Apple via proper channels and the issue should therefore be know to Mac OS X developer team.

Personally i hope this will be fixed asap, untill then it's no screensaver for me.

I think I might have had a similar problem with an eariler update. I haven't had it for a while. This was on a 600MHz (Late 2001) iBook.

I had the same problem a while back but now I have my iBook set up to turn the display off after a certain amount of time instead of the screensaver. I haven't tired using a screensaver for awhile now.

There is a thread about this in the OS X forum. It seems to be common among 12" iBook G4 users with 10.3.4. I have it too. Very annoying. Hopefully Apple will fix it soon.
