He talked again.

I think he needs to stop doing that.

I thought "fork", but I think he admitted less than it appears.

The smoking gun would be him admitting to drugging them involuntarily.

Don't get me wrong, I'm convinced he did, but he didn't admit to that.

True. He could claim the 'ludes were requested.

Indeed. The first version of the article I cited was "breaking news". But now that it's being fleshed out ...

Bill Cosby admitted in 2005 that he got quaaludes with the intent of giving them to young women he wanted to have sex with, and that he gave the sedative to at least one woman and "other people," according to documents obtained Monday by The Associated Press.

That woman and a second woman testified in the same case that they knowingly took quaaludes from him, according to the unsealed documents.
But of course ... the damage is already done. Half the Internet is now convinced that Cosby actually confessed to slipping them drugs.

And now the article has been updated yet again.

Cosby's lawyers insisted that two of the accusers knew they were taking quaaludes from the comedian, according to the unsealed documents.
That's a very different statement. There's a big difference between these two woman acknowledging under oath that they knew they were taking drugs and Cosby's lawyers making that claim.

I'm a little young for ludes, which is sad, because I hear they're awesome.

Don't you have to take a lot to be rendered unconscious?

Isn't Cosby's admission equivalent to "I bought alcohol with the intent of giving it to a woman and then trying to sleep with them"?

Not only is this considered okay, it's often recommended.

I think it depends on the debilitating effect.

As for the alcohol comment, I'd say the past decade or so that's become frowned upon.

I can't say I'm a fan of the practice, but let's just say it hasn't reached the "career breaker" stage of disapproval.

I've heard ludes described as like getting drunk, without the sour stomach or the hangover.

While using alcohol/drugs/steak as a way to entice someone is tried and true, a person consenting to taking drugs is not the same as consenting to sex. A person who passes out from drugs, is not consenting to sex, and a person who takes advantage of them is a scumbag.

No question.

This is only even relevant because we have a situation where the latter is what's accused, and the former is what was admitted to. There's some slimy journalism going on in that people are banking (literally) on you thinking he's admitted to what he's being accused of.

Only because adults are now being treated like children and can't be bothered to be responsible for their own actions anymore.

Because trusting someone not to take advantage of you while you're debilitated is too much to ask.

They make my tummy hurt, and I'm mildly worried you start frying your synapses after about 20 doses.

Edit: and God... withdrawal is so nasty. Coke is a walk in the park IME.

But coke makes my tummy hurt, too.

I get the feeling it's harder than some want to admit.

The last time I was in this situation (only about a month ago, actually) my attempts to later describe how frustrating it was were met with responses like "you didn't try and flirt?" and "gosh, you're a saint".

I'd say difficulty and culpability are fairly exclusive in moral matters.

I would agree.

My response was tailored to the question "is it that hard to ask".

I dunno, I don't equate self-control with sacrifice (at least 1:1), especially given the moral implication. I'm not oblivious to urges, I'm just saying that I don't see how its the other persons fault if I'm horny.

This kind of reminds me of what happened to Jo Pa at Penn State. He died a little later. It's enough to kill. IF Cosby did it, I wouldn't be surprised to hear in the near future that he died.

Yeah that magazine cover is not a good look. The sheer numbers tends to override the fact that many of the women admittedly engaged in ongoing affairs with Cosby.

He's likely guilty of at least a few of them, but many appear to want to call it "rape" when they simply have regrets about screwing him, and it doesn't work that way.

(CNN)Three more women came forward Wednesday to accuse Bill Cosby of sexually inappropriate behavior, creating yet another wave of allegations that the comedian abused his power by drugging and assaulting women.

One woman was a cocktail server at a jazz club in Redondo Beach, California, in the 1970s. She accused Cosby of stealing her panties after drugging her and assaulting her in her car while she was unconscious.

Another was a former model and actress who appeared as an extra on "The Cosby Show." She said Cosby told her she'd better sleep with him if she wanted to make it in the entertainment industry.

After years of silence, the women said, allegations against Cosby from other women emboldened them to come forward.

"After 35 years of living with these shameful memories in secret, I was finally encouraged by all the other women who have recently told their stories," said Sharon Van Ert, the former waitress.

Accusations from more than 40 women

More than 40 women have publicly accused Cosby of sexual misconduct over the past 40 years. The comedian has never been criminally charged and has vehemently denied wrongdoing. Cosby's representatives declined to comment on the latest claims. ...
