Hey MacZealaot,

Sorry, but I didn't see your question until today.

Unfortunately, the internet store, Living.com, went out of business. I don't know who the manufacturer was, but the furniture line was called Metro. There was a computer desk, a regular desk, a printer cart, and curved shelves (that's a pair of them pictured below) that you could make as long as you wanted. You may want to check other internet furniture sites... they might have them. All of them had the silver frames with frosted glass. Pretty reasonable prices too. Hope this helps....

It will sound better under the desk, next to the wall preferrably. It will sound like its producing more bass, believe me. Subs are supposed to go on the ground to be fully effective.

Here's a shot of my new PowerMac. A stock 800 MHz G4, 40 GB HD, Radeon 7500, and 1 GB of RAM. Planning on adding another hard drive in a few weeks.

I have since moved the tower to the floor however, to cut down a little on the noice of the machine, and clean up the desk space a little. I prefer the cleaner desktop, only having the display, keyboard/mouse, and the SoundSticks on it.

YOU DOWNSTEPPED FROM AN 867 TO AN 800?!!?!?!?!?!??!?!?

Oh well, you'll probably not notice the difference. Out of curio.. any noticable differences inside the case?

Cheers

With a few in between.... wasn't like I went right from the 867 to the 800.

Honestly i don't feel a real difference. If anything it feels faster, but I've got a gig of RAM in this puppy, so that'll help.

No difference I can tell in the case, except that I don't have the Zip drive showing in the front with this one.

Nice setup. Clean. I wish mine were clean.

But I clicked on your DVD collection. Holly Fricken Crapinze!!!

I worked at a small movie store (1 person per shift, that kinda thing), until it went out of business.

At the end we had 300 DVD's. But when I started working their we had something like 180. Dude you had more DVD's than we did!!!!

And your collection is a good one. Not just popular movies, but good ones!! Geeze. Our collection was not like that, just whatever new was coming out that month. So we did not have any of the classics. Like God Father on DVD. Only the movies from the past 3 or 4 years or so.

11011001,

Thanks for the comments... about the DVDs, yeah I guess you could say I'm a bit into Home Cinema. I have about 80 more titles which are not on the list becuase the program I use is only available for the PC, so I have to do it using VPC (grumble). It's tough though because I have to share my income between my love for the Mac and my love for Home Cinema

Congrats on the new one ,but I kinda liked the way they were sitting on top of your old g4 better, time to rework that a little?

I might sound silly, but for some reason I think putting a zip drive on the front of the g4 ruins it's beauty, sure, an external one is a little heftier, but then you can move it accross machines and get the beautiful undisturbed look

Something tells me that damn zip cover was made in a rush to fit the quicksilver deadline.

Nevertheless, welcome aboard, maybe you can paint the graphite shell of your CRT silver too!

Remember to talk about KeyBORG for pro keyboards in the powerbook thread, wouldn't that be nice

You know what? I actually am "seriously" thinking about taking that zip drive out and paint that face in SILVER. That would be a perfect match

I am kind of bored right now.

I just fired up Photoshop to paint the zip drive's front panel into the same silver color to see how it looks like

Not bad. Maybe I really should repaint the drive's front panel

ow! Leonis, look at the front of your quicksilver, a little from the left of it, do you see a small dim line coming from your zip drive down the front of the case about an inch? Don't want to scare you or anything but I have something like that on my quicksilver and almost freaked at that zoomed in one since I *THOUGHT* I saw something like that.

Still, you need to find another shelf to put some of those action figures, I have no idea how I could sanely work in that little space

Anyhoot, I hope that what I saw was just my tired eyes or some defect in the photoshop not your computer
