So I'm about to sell my iMac and I'd like to reset or delete my administrator identity from the computer. Anyone know how to do this?

I'd say, download all the Mac OS 9 updates to 9.9.2, and X updates until wherever you can, burn them on a CD, initialize and restore the machine from its restore disk/s, install X right away (no reboot to 9, straight to X CD) and then shut down when X is finished. Send the updates CD with the machine. The buyer will then have a nice, clean, factory fresh machine. Trust me, they'll enjoy it and you won't have any worries about personal info and documents.

I second this. Reformat the hard disk and put a clean copy of the OS on it. A win-win situation for both you and the person you sell the machine to, who you will save the trouble of having to reformat it themself.

zacks said it pretty well (except for the 9.9.2 part...heheh...obviously he meant 9.2.2). a full restore from the disks the imac came is the best thing to do. in addition to the reasons stated, you also don't have to worry about other software that you are not selling the license(s) for remaining on the computer...and a fresh start will better enable the new owner to get set up the way they like it without dealing with any "remnants" you may have left behind.
