I'm thinking of buying one of these this summer. Obviously you're happy with it. I'm going from a V6 Accord to the Mazda 3 - 5 door. I know it's a power jump down, but I need to get some more mileage and want something a little more unique. Is it a zippy car? (I'd get manual as well) What about the different model lines. What color did you get?

'88 Beretta. Yuk, that car is falling apart out from under me. Some of you car guys would smack me if you knew how I treated the poor thing. The muffler came off last week. It's in my trunk now. I had previously held it in place with a coat hanger but that only lasted about a week. I have various other things wrong with it as well.

Just needs to last me until May. Come on, just a few more months...

'96 Mercedes-Benz C180

Very reliable car. The only 'breakdown' I ever had was a dead battery in the last winter (it's pretty annoying that a Motronic engine won't keep running if there's no juice left though..)

Aaaaah ... Mercedes.

<nostalgia>
  • While in college, I used to drive a silver, '77 300D - wonderful car. Slow as hell (vmax = 145kph), but solid, super-reliable and the most beautiful interior (black, no leather) you can imagine and it had a sunroof, too ... **woot**. It was a W123 sedan (the one in the center), same color as the coupe in the front of the image.

    One day, I'll buy me a 280CE, strictly for "sunny Sunday driving". Great, great cars.

Unfortunately, they don't build them like they used to. "Des isch a Mercedes, dr goad ned he!" is sadly a proverb of the past. Nevertheless, my next car will be a '95 or '96 SL320. Good old times.

Discontinued? That's sad news, I didn't know that at all! I've always liked the A2 (and other audis), although they're a bit too expensive for my wallet. Sad sad news

I had a green 1996 Volvo 440, now I have a 2005 Peugeot 206 since januari, after the volvo died

Cheers.

96 Subaru Impreza.

Once we move back stateside we'll probably get an impreza or forester. If I can get a second "kickin around" ride it's a toss up between a jeep and mini cooper.

For years I've been waiting for them to release the A2 in the US... I guess that was always a crazy dream, but now its fate is definitely sealed.
