Hello!
I've got a G4 quicksilver dual800, which randomly shut down on me last night.

Tried to power up, the power light comes on, fans start, chimes, but 5 seconds later, it just turns itself off! If i leave it about half an hour, it will sometimes reach the login screen, but then the power just goes again.

Anyone got any ideas about what I could try?

It could possibly be the power supply. How much have you upgraded it? (extra hard drives, etc.) you might start pulling out any add-ons & see if one of them is the culprit, or if overall you're just taxing the poer supply too much.

Start by resetting the PMU/logic board. Unplug the machine and press the button on the logic board. Then wait ten seconds and plug back in.
