Anybody else find really *annoying* the hyperactive iMac that Billy's boys have atop every blessed Forum page these days... to advertise Virtual PC?

I've been on the verge of buying a copy of VPC for web design purposes, but lately I lean toward agreeing to buy it ONLY if they'll give their web-ad designer a supply of 'ludes.

Guess we ancient Mac foggies don't appreciate such nonstop "enthusiasm"

I thought I might be the only one who thought that ad was annoying.

You know, before the iMac gets hyper, it seems to be pleasuring itself by rapidly bobbing up and down.

Wow, I've always thought that MS contribtued to the success of the Macintosh. My first Mac, way back in 1985, was using Microsoft software. I've never owned a Mac without having to purchase software from Microsoft -- why is this a bad thing?

I am pretty sure my Pismo is MS free. MS is simply letter one short of PMS.

I like the Atkins girl better.

I thought about starting a thread to complain about the MS banner for VPC, but I thought "Hmmm, MS is paying for my free usage of a discussion board that usually rips them a new one as often as it can... COOL!".

There are threads in Software forum reporting BIGTIME problems with PithHelmet .72 - maybe esp. with Panther.

Does not sound good - and the link to ad-blocking CSS doesn't work any more. Anybody got any more thoughts about PithHelmet or other strategies?

PithHelmet has not ever caused any problems since I installed it. Well, not any that I can think of anyways. I see ads as being a lot bigger problem than an occasional shutdown of my browser.

I kind of enjoy the VPC ad, like the motion of the iMac.

Since I don't use Panther currently, I put PithHelmet .72 on my list with Version Tracker so the it will be available in the future.

Or smart enough to spell "bear"...or good enough to see a less-than-fully-clad woman.

I didn't realize everyone thought this; thanks for clarifying

Honestly, you should take the hint when most people respond not-so-favorably to your posts.

Most people being you and Cipher and a few other people who post collectively 4 useful posts a week? Forgive me if I don't shed a tear.

Sorry that some of you are not getting the benefits of the CPU-cycle-sukking javascript for VPC 6.1... It is SOOO informative

...especially in the week since VPC 7.0 has been announced. I just hope that MacNN is getting an extra $$$ from annoyingly bouncing advertisers.
