Well i have an 1ghz iMac... stupid me didn't get applecare and now my superdrive won't work it doesn't recognize any cds at all or if it does it only does it once and won't do it again. is it hard to install another one?

Doesnt look too friendly though. Post back if you do it, my superdrive is on the way out as well.

I'm going to assume you meant him and not me.

I never noticed his other thread.

In any event, I just changed my HD using that link. Its not fun, but doable. My machine was a little different than the one used for the pics. 17" 800mhz.

this is my first time posting this question? hey boardsufer thxs... haha i dunno if i'm goin to try and do this... i can just buy an external superdrive right?

yes, but externals are more expensive. Besides, you would still be stuck with one that doesnt work on the inside. At the moment, this deal cant be beat.

I did my HD in about 40 minutes or so. I was going slowly so I would remember how everything went back together
