Boinx Software has released its latest updates to iStopMotion for iPad and OS X, featuring GIF creation of up to 200 frames. With iStopMotion for iPad 2.2, users can export the first 200 frames of their animation as a GIF file and send it by email or iMessage, or upload it to DropBox. The Mac version, iStopMotion for Mac, allows users to save their 200-frame GIF animation directly to a hard drive. The software is intended for animators who wish to share portions of their work quickly. Sale pricing for both iPad and Mac OS versions of iStopMotion is available until October 20 at $5 for iPad at the App Store, and $40 at Boinx and the Mac App Store for its Mac OS version.

New versions of Akvis Enhancer, Noise Buster and Refocus released

Updates to Akvis' photo-correction software were released yesterday, offering new sharing features, plugin compatibilities and more support for RAW formats. Photos edited in any of the Akvis products can now be directly shared through Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, Tumblr and Google+. Plugin versions are now compatible with Adobe Photoshop CC and Elements 12, as well as Corel Paintshop Pro X6. Akvis Enhancer version 14, which improves detail; Akvis Noise Buster version 9, which suppresses luminance and color noise; and Akvis Refocus version 4.0, which improves image sharpness, are all available as plugins and as standalone applications for Windows and Mac OS X. The programs can be purchased separately or together, in the Photo Correction Bundle, starting at $94, 40 percent off the normal cost. A ten-day free trial is available to new users for all of the updated software, and currently registered users of any versions are eligible to upgrade their programs for free.

I'm confused; this article says that iStopMotion 3 for Mac is on sale for $40 until Oct. 20. But the Boinx web site doesn't mention a sale, it simply says that "The predecessor iStopMotion 2 Pro used to be priced at $499.99!" So it's unclear whether $40 is a limited time sale price or the new regular price for version 3.
