I have had my MBA for 18 months now. But as of 6 months ago I discovered a disturbing issue. The screen coating is coming off in tiny spots. I have always been very careful when cleaning the screen, making sure not to clean it too often or to apply any pressure to remove problem specs. I always use distilled water and barely dampen the soft cotton handkerchief; followed by another dry cotton handkerchief to dry the screen.

There is one area in the center right of the screen that is starting to delaminate. Granted there are only small specks, but still an issue since more have been starting to appear in a more or less horizontal line. It appears as if the coating was not evenly applies? The specs only become visible when the screen is black or dark and the specs tend to shine on the surface.

I am in a foreign country where I have already had a bad experience with the Apple tech, so am not inclined to bring it into them again. I have an extended 3 year warranty that will cover me until I return to the US. Has anyone else had this problem? Is Apple aware of it? Can anything be done to fix it? Thanks ahead

Apple would fix it by replacing the display under Applecare. You just have to take it to an Apple Store or AASP.
I have plenty of more important things to do, if only I could bring myself to do them....

Take it to a genius bar ... they will swap it out for free.
