Can i still get symmetric dual channel performance if i buy 2 different sticks that are identical? For instance... OWC offers 2x1GB sticks in matched pairs, and they also offer 1 gig sticks separately. If i were to buy 2 separate 1 gig sticks would i get the same dual channel as if i bought the 2x1GB matched pair?

This would help out a lot because if its the same i can just get the $85 Patriot RAM from newegg.com and it would save me about $50
