yes!
its especially annoying when you tell them to buy a mac so you can help them when they fall in trouble. then they go out and buy a cheap pc and expect for you to help them.

That would be a truly funny vision.

people like you and i, geeks if you like, have got this mental capacity that no other humans on earth possess. We can figure things out, we aren't scared to fiddle with something to see happens. This concept extends far beyond the confines of simple computing, how to work a gui, keyboard shortcuts, but it covers troubleshooting, hardware repair.
Its because we have a thirst for learning and we detest inefficiency.
It applies to all things in life, languages, arts, musical instruments...
We should be happy to lend our <napoleon>skills</napoleon> to those who lack them.
We think different.
Kinda reminds me of that episode of "House"(getting interested in this sitcom), i watched the other day. House is interviewing this intern/student(long hair, chineeses/japaneeses name tattoo, "rebelious"), who tries to identify with House as being a rebel who dosent give a f*ck. House fires back.... "Those Asian students in the library on a Saturday night are the true rebels who dont care what anyone else thinks.". lol....definately made sence to me.

Yes. A lot.
The upside I got to date a couple of the girls whose computers I fixed while in college. Always nice.
I get trans-pacific tech calls from my parents. At weird hours because they can't shift time zones. For things not plugged in properly.
