Has anyone seen the previews for this show? It's going to begin airing in a month on NBC and it follows the lives of people around the world who discover they have super powers. I think it looks pretty interesting, although I wonder if they opted to put this on NBC instead of Sci Fi when BSG ended up not moving to NBC.
The pilot will be available for free on iTunes starting September 1st but I think it involves a cross-promotion with AMC theaters.

I saw the first episode at Comic-Con. Not a whole lot happened — it was mainly just to set up the characters — but I really enjoyed it. The characters all seem pretty interesting (a teen girl pissed off that she's invulnerable, a teleporting geek, a single mom with an evil twin), and I'm definitely curious where it goes.

When I saw the add I thought "Oh yay. A Rising Stars tv show." The notion of Superheroes in a 'real world' setting rarely works out well, and then when it is on network tv my expectations = zero.

Jeph Loeb's record is pretty good so far.

Please don't mention Jeph Loeb. It makes me think of Ultimates Vol. 3, and that makes me think of Joe Mad, and that makes me throw up a little bit.

i JUST watched the last episode!
THANK YOU DVR!!!!
I am totally hooked... between Heroes, Jerico, and eureka I am content with TV... it's nice to skip the commercials, I would rather wait the hour for it to record it and then watch it then to watch it live!
The last scene was quite the shocker... how the hell do you get out of that one?

I'm loving Heroes too.
I still don't get Ali Larter's character's power/story. Cheerleader girl had a freaky twist this week. And Hiro is my Hero!

She's invincible and self-healing. Quite a power, I can see it now...she puts on her costume, confronts the bad guy and he blows her to pieces. A few seconds later she reconstitutes and confronts him again, he incinerates her. Rinse and repeat.
She has the potential for being the most annoying superhero ever.

I don't know about that. There seems to be some limit to her healing powers.
Notice that the coroner had to remove the piece of wood before she could heal -- and when the piece of removed, she healed immediately. Also, remember when she was testing herself and broke some ribs, those ribs were sticking out and needed some nudging before they would heal. I don't know if she would have healed eventually, but it seems some injuries need prompting to heal effectively.

I want to watch it but I can't stomach paying Adelphia $60 for DVR service when I was paying $45 with DirecTV. I recently moved into a house that doesn't allow me to attach my dish to the building. This means I miss Eureka, Who wants to be a Superhero? and football.

Are you in the USA?
In 1996, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) adopted rules for Over-the-Air-Reception Devices (“OTARD” rules). The OTARD rules prohibit restrictions on a property owner or tenant’s right to install, maintain, or use an antenna to receive video programming from direct broadcast satellites (DBS), broadband radio services (formerly referred to as multichannel multipoint distribution services or MMDS), and television broadcast stations (TVBS). However, there are exceptions to the OTARD rules, including provisions for safety and preservation of historic areas.

Also, you can use a tri-pod device I used one for 4 years in my apartment building.

I'm enjoying it.
And this comic-book geek thinks at least one character with the cheerleader's powers (Wolverine) is more annoying than Aquaman could ever be.

I thought that was badly done.
You don't have plot points outside of the plot. All clues should be given in actual footage, not outside of the show itself.

it must have been a trip to be the girl doing the autopsy, and your body just disappears... freaky...

Not true! He turned into a water monster. Once. In the entire show.

I'll guess I'll have to snag this show since so many seem to like it. The preview of the Asian guy grunting and rolling the footage in reverse turned me off, though.

It is a great show. My favorite characters are the japanese guys, the cheerleader and the cop.
The show is unevenly written, but when it gets to the people I mentioned it is very interesting to me. That and it's premise and unpredictability make it great watching.

Hiro is such a good, nice, funny, likable guy!
Exclusive: Heroes' Hiro, Masi Oka - Superhero Hype!
Heroes star made cover of Time magazine
Posted Nov 22nd 2006 1:41PM by Bob Sassone
Filed under: Science Fiction, NBC, Late Night, Celebrities, Talk Show, Heroes
The cover of the August 31, 1987 edition of the magazine, that is. Seems that Masi Oka was one of the smart kids pictured on the cover of that issue of Time, the one titled "Those Asian-American Whiz Kids." Oka is on the left, with the blue shirt and the backpack.
The story came to light on Monday night's episode of Late Night With Conan O'Brien. Oka was a guest on the show, and Conan surprised the Heroes star by showing him a copy of the magazine. The picture was taken by the parent of one of his friends.
As we told you a while back, Oka went on to work for George Lucas' Industrial Light & Magic, and actually still works there part time (as far as I know). When he started there out of college, he actually had something in his contract about his movie career.
Anyone have a copy of this issue? Could be a cool collectible. Everyone rush over to ebay starting right....now.

The pilot episode is bad. The dialogue.. it hurts. The predictabiliy. Immense. The political correctness. Over the top. Americanism. You bet.
If the second episode is anything like it, then that's it.

The pilot was like Episode 1 of Star Wars. Unnecessary.
