I'm trying to fix an upgraded Wallstreet that initially kept losing it's Startup disk location. Now It can boot up in OS 9 but the OS X installation is fubared. I tried to install Jag on it again and the install CD just hangs at the gray screen. I tried Panther on a whim and it went to the installer screen telling me I couldn't install it on that computer.

So any ideas? It originally had 9.2.1 and 10.2.8 on it. Thanks!

Well, the battery/capacitor that stores the PRAM settings is probably pooped. You might want to check the firmware version to see if it needs to be upgraded to run newer OS X versions properly. Also, if it's got crap RAM it will probably not be happy with any version of OS X. Back up the data and zero out the hard drive.

Also, don't try with Panther, since Panther doesn't support Wallstreets (though there are unofficial ways around that.)
