They're going to make Zelda: TP compatible with Revolution controller. When Revolution's out, you can insert Zelda: TP cd in the system and it will work with new controller.

I find the pace of those Zelda games to be infuriatingly slow. Lots of running to and fro. Not much action.

I find the pace to be just right. You get a few toys, and not 8000 different types of armour, weapons, magic, and other crap that takes the flow completely out of most other adventure type games. Geez, on most fantasy RPGs you spend more time buying/selling/equipping stuff than actually playing.

Not only that, the dungeons tend to have more puzzle type aspects to them than just go here - beat bad guy, go there - beat another bad guy, that you see in other games.

You know what I find funny?

Despite their best efforts, this game will never be better than the original
Legend of Zelda I bought in 1987 with the golden cartridge. I even play it still on an emulator.

I'll just stick with that.

The new graphics are okay (not realistic in my opinion and I still prefer 2D over 3D),
but the action is really lame and generic.

Link to the Past was way better than the original. That will always be the definitive Zelda game in my mind.

Anyway, the new Zelda games aren't even trying to compete with the original. They're trying different things. I don't think the comparison works much better than comparing it to Tetris.

I really loved Orcania of Time. Zelda's transition into a 3D world was equally as amazing as Mario 64 was at the time. Twilight Princess looks like a worthy sucessor to Orcania of Time from the video provided. Too bad there probbably won't be many more games like this for the GameCube.

Personally im still in shock that they have managed to achieve such amazing visuals on the NGC hardware. it looks almost next gen imo. I love the spit-n-polish and detail they have taken care of in the game(the videos anyway). Everything from character designs, environments, animation and particle effects are spot on..... looks like a story book come alive.

Looking forward to it myself. but i too find Zelda games a little too.....blah....too much to figure out and learn i guess. Its not so much the learning curve, its getting used to the language and jargon at the same time thats a bit intimidating to me.

The graphics and animation don't impress me at all. Looks more like a contemporary to Ocarina of Time. Maybe the gameplay will have some new elements to it (like the horse-back battle) but until I see more, I'm thoroughly underwhelmed.

And yeah, the SNES Zelda was one of my all-time faves. The new one for GBA, Minish Cap, was also pretty good.
