There is no start menu or 'my computer' on a Mac. You're not likely to find much help in making a Mac look like a PC ... the difference is 95% of the point of Apple's existence.

Lol. Yes, this is classic. Well, maybe not classic, but hilarious nonetheless.

If it's a Mac OS, it never looked like Windows to begin with.

John - you are an idiot if you can't figure this out.

No. Nevermind, you're just an idiot period.

But just to humor you...

You can rename "Macintosh HD" to be "My Computer" if you want. And use Shapeshifter to make the windows and menu bar look crappy like Windows does.

You can even download programs such as Tigerlaunch and Himmelbar, which provide menus from which to access programs/application.

Why you would want to do this is beyond me, but if you really want to...
  • Get ShapeShifter and Max's Mac OSXP theme (this includes wallpapers and a candybar iconset)
  • Get Candybar to use the iconset mentioned above
  • As far asI know there is no app to make a windows style "start menu" in OSX, but there is one for OS 9: http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/311
  • You can rename the HD anything you want. Change it to "My Computer", but it's not going to change how it works.

Urrrrrhhhhh...

[Tears clumps of hair out of head]

Mr. B. Smith, for a' Veteran Member', you are one dumb mofo.

(I'm sorry to say)

If you want your "MAC" look like Windows... Go use a PC.

...

Besides, what benefits do you get from a "MAC" looking like Windows anyway!?!?

If he IS joking, he should know when to stop, because it kinda stopped being funny after the first post. I can't believe that he is being serious because he is a veteran member and therefore:

A. Must have had a Mac for quite some time, as this is a Mac-specific site.

B. Would know how to make his Mac look like Windows if he really wanted to.

C. Wouldn't want to.

So he must be joking. He does a good impression of a dumbass though!

A MAC 10 is a gun and not an operating system for a start!

Get Another Launcher (search for it on versiontracker.com) and rename your Macintosh HD to "My Computer."

seriously people... read the thread before you post... at least half of the posts have already commented on the fact that he is a troll, and the other half of you believe him... which makes it understandable that is too hard to read the 20 replies in this thread

Look, people, John B. Smith here hasn't even responded to the topic so I think it would be okay to let this one die.
