Every day, alongside our regular Daily Deals post, we are showcasing some of the offers available from our own MacNN Deals store. In an effort to help you make your web-viewing habits more private, we are highlighting some of the large number of VPNs available in the store, and if you use coupon code VPN15, you can save an additional 15 percent on any VPN.

First, the Tiger VPN Lite: Lifetime Subscription is a decent essential VPN service that covers both desktops and mobiles. Encrypting browsing with a 256-bit SSL connection, it uses 15 10Gbps servers in a variety of countries, allowing you to get around location restrictions, and doesn't limit the amount of data you can pass through them. Valued at $790, you can get this subscription for $29 for the next two days.

The PureVPN: Lifetime Subscription can be used with up to five devices simultaneously, with unlimited network bandwidth and one-click functionality also offered. The self-managed VPN is expansive, covering over 550 servers in 141 countries across 6 continents, meaning you can get around almost any regional restriction. Listed at $597, you can grab it for $69 for three days.

A third alternative would be the VPN Land: 1-Year Subscription, if you don't want a lifetime subscription. Offering the use of over 400 servers with mobile and desktop accessibility, it can be used to shield your Internet traffic and get around geo-location restrictions on media services like Hulu and Netflix. Valued at $100, it's been reduced down to $10, with seven days left to run.

Lastly, if you want an increased level of security, consider the Privatoria Personal VPN & Tor: 3-Year Subscription. While it offers more than ten servers around the world and 256-bit AES-encrypted traffic, you also get other services, including secure chat, anonymous e-mail, and secure file transfers with other Internet users. Originally $75, it's down to $39, but the deal expires tonight.

Wow, wish I had time to do some testing or research on a couple of these lifetime ones. I'm currently using IP Vanish (on a friend's recommendation) and while I really like it, it's kind of pricy by comparison.

One of the big issues currently with VPN and OS X/iOS, is that once an Internet connection is detected, they instantly start trying to check everything before a VPN connection can even be established... it's especially tricky on airport WiFi where you often have to use some web-page based form... making it even more awkward and take longer to get everything working together.

So, basically, when you initiate the connection, you're sending all sorts of login info before the VPN is in place. That's a bad design on Apple's part. Anyone know of a way around that? It would be *really* nice if Apple had some setting like, 'wait for VPN to be established before any app gets to send data' or something like that.
