I've recently become an ipod owner - silver mini. Now, I find myself looking for answers quickly on macnn for my questions. But, because ipod questions are buried in 'peripherals', it's a little inconvenient. I've now coasted to ipodlounge.com and others. Seems to me the ipod has become a strong enough entity on it's own and deserves it's own category here. Does anyone else agree?

Lots of people agree with you, but there is also strong opposition:

I still contend that the pro-iPod forum people laid out some very strong arguments which more than held their own against the concerns of the naysayers. But alas, it does not appear meant to be...for now.

It should but their are a crazy few who think that the iPod belongs in the same catagory as a mouse and a printer.

Well, we'll see. Perhaps putting sub-forums in Peripherals, e.g.

-iPod
-Printers, Scanners, and Multifunction Devices
-Displays
-Input Devices
-Storage
-Bluetooth
-PDAs

and everything else just loose in the Peripherals forum.

But the fact is, there's so little traffic in the Peripherals forum that threads don't get bumped down too often anyway. I don't think it's worth the effort.
