I have a 15in 1.25Ghz AluPB running 10.4.1 and I wanted to hook it up to my new HD TV, I thought it would be a simple matter of hooking the DVI cable up to both. The TV recognizes that a DVI cable has been plugged in, and the powerbook screen flashes blue as it usually does when i connect an external monitor, but the there is no signal on the TV. When I got to system preferences>displays and click detect display nothing happens. Any idea what I am doing wrong?
waiting this long for a new 15 will drive

I just got my first HDTV and I wanted to do the exact same thing. However, carefully reading the TV's manual (Samsung TX-P2775), they specifically mention that computer DVI signals will not display on the HDTV. I haven't tried it myself yet to prove this (I just got a male-to-male DVI cable for this yesterday), but it's entirely possible that the receiver in the TV is not made to interpret DVI signalling from a computer, only from other video devices.
