I am honored to announce that NetworkShadow (busy beyond belief) has entrusted me to try and carry a theme concept through to fruition. He will be involved in the development as much as his busy schedule allows. Remember, this is obviously in alpha stage.

On first sight I was reminded of a '58 Corvette, hence the name, "Vette".

Now then, my graphic skills are pretty feeble, so any help will be much appreciated. I want to make NetworkShadow proud and do justice to his exceptional talent.

Color variations are definitely planned, but that's putting the cart way ahead of the horse.

TIA for any offers to help.

To dislike Sinatra is a sign of highly questionable taste. To dislike the Beatles is a serious character flaw.

lol well wait on my response next time before posting anything, but I'm cool with it. Glad this baby's getting made finally.

We maybe able to do a red variation. I've got a mockup somewhere with a red version of the same chrome substance I used for this. We'll see how this goes.

demograph68: thanks for the input, but I've tried without the outlines a long time ago and it losses it's charm... I've tried thinner and thicker also.
I agree with you on the tabs, and the "grow-box" lighting direction.
As for the scroll bars, I like the standard rounded bevel... I might play with it a bit, but I'm happy with them as they are.

Input is welcome, but this is my baby.

Thanks for taking this on crooner.

Sorry 56K users - A few ideas for some other colors:

We'll start with one color, so don't get too excited.

i'll download this theme, once its finished too.

as for themes looking a like..not much you can really do with the X for close - for minimize or + for maximize other than taking them off, like siro. buttons and colors are also going to be similar to a lot of other themes, but they arn't using the exact same shade..or if they do, then you can complain a bit...

Again picking-up on remote similarities, (like how Siro "looks like" AlumiteX). The white on a darker color for a title bar is reminiscent of TuX... otherwise looks nothing like it.

For someone as critical as you, why have you ignored Mitchell's suggestion that you turn your critical eye to yourself?

Thanks for the pic.

Yeah... I'd have to say that they're pretty different, insofar as all themes are going to be somewhat similar due to the current restrictions the OS places on design.

What did I just say? I need to go back to bed. I'm never letting my manager set a meeting for 9am again. This is Vegas, for 's sake.

Like NS said, we'll pick the coolest couple of colors and then, like Chevrolet, release "new models" of the Vette with different exterior and interior colors.

No, there will not be a Fine Corinthian Leather variant (although Ricardo Montalban has been contacted to be the official Vette spokesman).

To dislike Sinatra is a sign of highly questionable taste. To dislike the Beatles is a serious character flaw.

Hey, sure if anyone wants to make it; contact me at once. I'd be happy to do the same kinda development partnership crooner and I are doing with Vette.

Lookin good . but that red looks more like pink/purple/maroon . I was hoping for this color:

But, that might be too bright. Maybe your is as light as it can get without blinding people. (maybe I'm just too picky... or a moron... or both)

I tried tweaking the colors a little to make them less harsh and primary. Might be more pleasing to work with? I love this theme!

Yep. I tend to agree. And while NS has "final cut" authority, I think we'll start with colors fairly reminiscent of the colors Chevrolet used on the Corvette. Cool, huh?

And, yes, I think they did offer it in yellow.
