I installed intego's VirusBarrier and enabled it in trial mode to check it out while waiting for the universal version of ClamXav to be released. Saw the ad in a magazine, and said what the heck, let's see what it's like.

Didn't like it. So, thinking I could drag it to the trash to get rid of it, I did. Still there

Installed appzapper, zapped it....guess what? Parts of it still there.

Finally went in and stopped all it's processes and manually removed the debris it scatters everywhere. Now, it's gone.

IF you were thinking about checking it out......DON'T. It's

eek. It is not a "offline" virus scanner. When you mount its "install cd" (start downloading now!) you will see a huge "uninstall" option. That is the way to uninstall that software. As a general rule, if you notice a software you install has an uninstall option, use that one (keeping the .dmg,sit,sitx whatever)

It plugs into kernel, adds its own frameworks. It is a nice antivirus but... no viruses to bust yet

No need to panic, that uninstaller I mention is very goodly coded.
