Over the weekend, police for Santa Clara County arrested a man accused of trying to steal copper wire from Apple's future Campus 2 building in Cupertino, reports say. Around 9:30PM on Saturday, Apple security asked police to investigate a burglary in progress, having discovered that a gate to fenced-off ground had been opened. Not knowing the extent of the situation, the police called in both a helicopter and a K-9 unit, who found a hiding 56-year-old Belmont man, Glenn Cartwright.

The dogs were set on Cartwright when he didn't obey orders. The copper and a bag of tools were discovered near an exit gate; Cartwright faces charges of both burglary and possession of burglary tools.

Campus 2 is only scheduled for completion in 2016, but some preliminary work is already underway. The centerpiece of the complex will be the "spaceship," a circular building measuring 2.8 million square feet, and capable of supporting some 12,000 workers. Most of the exterior will be lined with curved glass windows, and the roof will be lined with solar panels, helping to reduce Apple's dependence on the local power grid.

In the next episode, his pa, Ben Cartwright, will appeal to the sheriff to release Glenn on grounds that he was searching for a lost cow. His brothers, Little Joe and Hoss will eventually try to break him out of jail when they learn the sherriff is thinking about turning Glenn over to the Black-Hat rustling gang in exchange for a bribe.
