Trump has now said more harsh words to congress for passing sanctions to punish Russia than to Russia itself for either the election interference or Putins current retaliation. America first my ass

This would be a half-decent response if I didn't suspect he's being sincere.

NK threatens Trump he threatens back.
Russia cuts US staff in Russia, Trump... thanks him.

State is retaliating for Russia s retaliation. I have a feeling Trump won't brag about it.

Trying to make it look like Russia's involved? Sure are.

The administration missed their first deadline for imposing Russian sanctions.

It's been almost two months and I haven't heard any change.

The Trump administration informed lawmakers Monday that new Russia sanctions called for in a bipartisan bill passed last year are not necessary yet because the measure is already "serving as a deterrent."

A State Department spokesperson said by email that the administration is "using this legislation as Congress intended to press Russia to address our concerns related to its aggression in Ukraine, interference in other nations’ domestic affairs and abuses of human rights."

So not only did they not do the sanctions, they didn't but a good-faith effort into the oligarch list, either.
https://www.buzzfeed.com/johnhudson/...xK#.sckn03QBr0
The striking similarity between a newly released Treasury Department report of Russian oligarchs and a 2017 list of wealthy Russians published in Forbes magazine is no coincidence.

On Tuesday, a Treasury Department spokesperson confirmed to BuzzFeed News that the unclassified annex of the report was derived from Forbes’ ranking of the “200 richest businessmen in Russia 2017.”

The revelation is likely to invite criticisms of the thoroughness of the Treasury Department’s report and reinforce the notion that the list is primarily a who’s who of the Russian elite rather than an official accounting of Kremlin-linked political corruption as some US lawmakers intended.

In an exclusive interview with NBC News, Jeanette Manfra, the head of cybersecurity at the Department of Homeland Security, said she couldn't talk about classified information publicly, but in 2016, "We saw a targeting of 21 states and an exceptionally small number of them were actually successfully penetrated."

Jeh Johnson, who was DHS secretary during the Russian intrusions, said, "2016 was a wake-up call and now it's incumbent upon states and the Feds to do something about it before our democracy is attacked again."
New sanctions totally not needed.

Have we done anything to improve security for 2018?

Why would they change anything? Seems like things worked out really well for them in 2016.

That's really the bottom line, isn't it? They don't care because they don't think it'll affect them.

Tucker Carlson's DailyCaller felt it was a good idea to give an op-ed to Oleg Deripaska, you know, the Russian heavily connected to Paul Manafort.

White House @PressSec condemns poison attack in UK as “reckless” and says US stands by its ally. But she declines to name Russia as the likely culprit, as UK has.

A bunch of GOP congresspeople are in Russia and I honestly don't know why.

Plus, Trump is having a summit with Putin and, of course, wants some along time away from prying eyes.

CW was Trump might come out of this recognizing Crimea but some news I read today think there's a chance it relates to conceding Syria in an effort to **** over Iran.

Things to remember before @realDonaldTrump travels to Europe:

-Russia is the aggressor—Ukraine is the victim
-Crimea belongs to Ukraine
-NATO & US troops in Europe serve our national interests
-Europeans must spend more on defense
-Putin's track record shows he can't be trusted
The Heritage Foundation appears to be anxious Trump is going to be soft on Putin

Let me tell you, if Barack Obama had said the crap Trump said today there would already be 10, 000 hypercaustic elected Republican press releases, Facebook posts, and tweets. There would be a hundred calls for impeachment by close of business today.
Obama was raked of the coals for bowing and his 'apology tour' but that doesn't hold a candle to siding with a dictator over your own government and both-sidsing the aggressive actions of Russia as if we somehow made them invade Crimea.
