This morning, I noticed a new (to me) folder in my User > Library > Preferences directory. It's called StageManager.BD092818F67280F4B42B04877600987F0111B 594.1. It contains a single sub-folder called Local Store. There is nothing in the sub-folder.

Doing a little searching, I don't really find much about it beyond some indication that it might be associated with Adobe apps, but I also find a lot of Windows users implying that it's associated with some malware/rootkit/virus/plague of locusts/etc. So, it's all pretty inconclusive. I've not noticed this folder before, and haven't installed any new software recently, so I have no clue where it came from or when it first appeared.

Anyone else have this folder in their Preferences? Anyone with a good guess as to what it's for?

No. Never used StageManager.
Interestingly, there's another folder in Preferences called chc.4875E02D9FB21EE389F73B8D1702B320485DF8CE.1. It also has a sub-folder called Local Store. That folder contains tons of files used by Adobe CS5 apps. They look to be primarily help files and images.

Found it.

It's generated by Adobe's stuff - namely, the Folio Builder, whatever that is (part of InDesign?).

Adobe Forums: Folio Builder preview freezes
