I must say, one of the best movies I've seen my short time while on this Earth. Does anyone know where I can get the soundtrack yet?

I think the ads for that movie look interesting. My brother joined a church that reminds me of that wide eye religious blabbering... I can't help but roll my eyes.

It makes my eyes burn when they say GOD and "building a new church" in the same breath!

It does look like a really good satire. I knew a girl in high school who is exactly like the Mandy Moore character. I can't wait to see it.

I saw am early screening of it yesterday. It was a little cheesy at times, but it had plenty of funny parts, and I enjoyed the characters. The characters definitely saved the movie. Recommended.

Sorry to resurrect a thread this old.

I just finally saw Saved! this week, they showed it at my school. Turns out the director/writer is an alumnus of my school, and he came and talked with us afterwards. Since this was his first feature film, he had to make compromises (like filming in Vancouver instead of Baltimore, where it takes place), though he plans to shoot future movies locally. He said he'd be happy to hire UMBC kids as extras, hehe.

Anyway, that's all. 'Twas fun.

Gotta love the line: "I am FILLED with Christ's love!", as Hilary pummels someone with a bible. -- "Hilary! The bible isn't a weapon!"

Yep, pretty funny. I read that someone wants to make it a TV show.

They key to making a good movie into a good tv show is: 1) Replace the writers and the actors which cheaper ones. 2) Remove all creative thought. 3) Great time slot.

Oh wait.. replace 'good' with 'bad.'

Nobody would run a show as edgy as Saved was. Especially in this theological, er, um, I mean, "political" climate, no TV network would dare run something so sacrilegious.

Yeah, I know a number of people here in Texas that would be really upset if they saw this movie... I thought it was great, however!

HBO? I'd like to think that they have the cajones.

This is the first time that of have ever heard of this movie. It sounds as though it's not a movie for me.

Wait so is this movie a satire of the whole Christian evangelical thing? Or does it kinda make fun of everybody?

Cajones are a kind of drum. Perhaps you're thinking of cojones? :-P

But no matter -- HBO isn't one of the TV networks ("network TV" means a broadcast network, which HBO is not).

Saved, according to the director, who says he went to pretty much every kind of religious school during his upbringing, says it's really supposed to be about tolerance. I think it pretty much achieves that.

Ah, well, in my defense for the mix up we (most Salvadoreos) use "huevos."
