For all those wondering why your order is still in the Open step, read this...

http://www.apple.com/support/store/o...tusdetail.html

It explains the order status messages.

Edit: The phone and online order status are down right now.

"Apple's Online and phone Order Status services are temporarily unavailable due to a scheduled upgrade to our systems."

I was checking my order status and it appears that the Up-to-date orders ship first? I have a Tiger Edu on order and it said it will ship out by the 28th, but on my Up-To-Date order, it said it will ship out TODAY!
Is my order status messed up or something?

Yup - my cash has been taken, but my online order status is still Open - I think Apple are having a few problems at the moment, all my recent orders have been all over the place (stuff shipped, and I didn't receive emails beyond the first...and then the Shipped one arrived 2 days after it arrived!)

My status has changed to "Processing Order" which according to Apple means:

"Processing Order
In-stock items are processed immediately so that you can begin enjoying your Apple products as soon as possible. Generally, orders can be modified while they are being processed. "

My card has yet to be charged, however.

Mine's changed to Processing Order as well. O/T, I like the single order lookup function they added. I wouldn't mind "borrowing" that idea for the e-business site where I work.

My order is being processed as well. I'm hoping that changes soon and I get it early next week though.

From MacMinute:

Apple Store, MacMall shipping Tiger
April 22, 2005 - 11:17 EDT A handful of MacMinute readers report receiving shipping notices for Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger from the online Apple Store and MacMall. Two readers even informed us that they've already received their ordered copy of Tiger, a week before the update will be rolled out officially. Those that have received shipment confirmation are reporting expected delivery dates of early next week. Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger will go on sale at special events at Apple retail stores and Authorized Apple Resellers across the U.S. on Friday, April 29.

Well since it says ship by or on 29th i'm betting it ships on the 29th and being a bloody bank holiday means I won't get Tiger until Tuesday

I would pop to Regent's street but I can't get an edu discount there (I don't think).

It's not updating because I bet it won't ship 'til Friday. It does dishearten me that Apple US will ship by the 28th but Apple UK by 29th. WTF?

OK,

I have just spoken to the Apple store UK (twice). Both people have said that Apple will ship Tiger ON THE 29th. This means that (at least for those of us in the UK), we will NOT BE GETTING TIGER UNTIL TUESDAY (as it is a bank holiday weekend).

Since it is a bank holiday weekend, I want the weekend to play with Tiger! I think I am going to cancel my order and wait in line at Regent's street for one on the day. Guess i'll just have to forgo my edu discount.

What gets me is if you check out the US Tiger FAQ here it says "Free delivery on the day of launch", whereas on the UK store here it says "Free shipping by the day of launch".

I have now cancelled my preorder. I'm just gonna get it from the store. It's such a crock here in the UK. It seems we not only get shafted on price but on delivery as well. I wish I knew how to complain to Apple.

Apple UK shipping has been a farce for as long as I can remember. It sucks, they are aware of it, but still the situation doesn't improve.
I have ordered Tiger (honest) but lets just say I don't give a crap how long they take to get it to me now

Should I expect that I will get mine ($10 up to date deal) after those of you who ordered the "real" ones?

My order says ship on or before the 29th. Whereas the order I placed originally and cancelled said it would ARRIVE by the 29th...

Thanks!

I ordered 2, each got sent to a different address. One is preparing shipment, the other is still processing order. The one that is processing order though, last time I ordered something from the apple store to that address it got here in 1 day, left whereever it was at and went straight on a truck for delivery so I don't know if they have Tiger at whatever location that was, but I'm sure they are figuring out which orders they need to ship on which days.

I agree too. Most likely the 2 day is via Fed Ex. Orders will stay in perparing shipment until Wednesday then delivered Friday. Makes the most sense to me.
