darkness, I noticed immediately that's a quicksilver.... with radeon mac card (non stock)....
Is that a 733, 867, or dual 800? (I know it's from the titan series not the later quicksilvers)
I'm almost positive it's single proc because I wouldn't want my dual procs running on a fan like that.... (though it's pretty sweet), it's not mounted right
dual 800's run waaaaaaaaaaay tooo hot (at least mine do!)

Isn't that heatsink a bit small for a dual processor board? My MDD dual 867 has a much larger heatsink...

I don't understand. The MDDs have a fan too, it's on the side of the heatsink and not on the top, but...
Is this an original Apple CPU card? The fan looks pretty third-party...

Its just a temp thing...going to dremel the last two mount points for the fan and it will be "mounted correctly"...lol
I used to have a Dual 800 on the board, and yes the dualies do run hot...that module died and I am currently running an 800 at 867...not ideal , but I can work with it The Heatsink is from the older 733 QS , which is in use in a friend's computer with a later 867 heatsink.
Saphyre Radeon 8500 275/275
Lian Li PC 61 USB
QS 2002 mlb
G4 7455 800/no L3 o/c to 867 ( I can run it at 933 but I choose not to)
384MB RAM (using the other 512MB in something else right now;D)
120GB WD Special Edition.
The fan is the Ystech TMD fan 4200RPM 70mm...33cfm at 34db. Heatsink is not even noticeably warm...ie cold...lol
Blah blah blah...
Working on a Drive door for the Samsumg 332b.

ChadC,
How do you like the 867 in so far as performance is concerned?
Can you add an iDVD compatible SuperDrive to that bad boy?

Well i just set it up yesterday but so far I love it. Have used Adobe applications and Vectorworks so far on it and it is a vast improvement from the iMac DV. You can get it from Apple with a Combo and i don't see why you wouldn't be able to upgrade to a Super by yourself. But I love it though!

Congrats and good luck with it!
Did you get a Superdrive upgrade, or did you go with the CD-RW?
They are nice boxes.

Thanks you. I am coming from an iBook 700, and the speed difference is phenominal.
I actually got it with the combo, which is stock.
I am not sure if I am going to use the DVD aspect of the drive often. I will probably see if I do at all over the next month, and if I dont I figured I could easily get a good chunk of change on eBay for the drive (Lots of 1x 5.25" owners who want a combo), more than enough to buy a fast Mac compatable CD-RW.
And yes, they are gorgeous machines.

If only I still worked at CompUSA, I could "borrow" one.
I was actually terrified about how bad the noise level would be before I got it, but honestly... It is the quietest desktop I have ever owned. Much quieter than my old SP 533 G4, or any PC.
The full power of the fan was only unleashed upon me once. I had the door down, admiring the hardware as I ripped a CD. Apparently, the CPU got a little hotter because the fan wasnt able to blow the hot air away from the heatsink. So over a period of 5 minutes, I sat in horror to see/hear exactly how loud the fan would get. When it got so loud that I could barely think, I closed the case, and it died down within 2 minutes.

Wow, that is one of THE best case mods I've ever seen... at first I was like "WTF, that's not an Apple case" but then I realized the "Case Mod..." and thought cool thing dude...
Also the Bapu truly makes your setup complete

Thank you!
The chair is comfortable, even if it is from Wal-Mart.
The desk is an antique cherry desk that I had in college. It will be replaced this year with a nice roll-top desk.
The black thing is a Toshiba cable modem...it looks awkwardly placed, huh? I'll eventually move it over with the other equipment.
