Mistakes are often uncorrected. Common typing misspellings (or typos) such as "teh" instead of "the" are left uncorrected and may be adopted to replace the correct spelling.
Don't forget made up words like teh intarweb!

A few days ago, an MSNBC technology reporter was doing a segment on 1337 abbreviations for parents to watch out for. I laughed my ass off through just about the entire segment. Because not only was the the anchorwoman completely clueless to internet abbreviations, but the man giving the report was so out of the loop that I am pretty sure he made up his own, as I had never hear of one of them.

One that comes to mind was something along the lines of "PYPDN", or Pull Your Pants Down Now.
