so the question is, can i boot lion from a back partition on a Lacie external HD? (it's an older one that spins).

i ask because i'm buying a USB STB (set top digital TV receiver) and they all, AFAIK, record to the first partition. i want to have as few things plugged in as possible so i also want to use other partitions on the extHD for Time Machine and Boot.

thanks

Shouldn't be a problem.
