The latest iPad mini leak suggests Apple may offer a total of 12 individual configurations in two different colors. A list of SKUs published by lists models P101, P103, P105 and P107, allegedly differentiating four different storage capacities, potentially ranging from 8GB to 64GB, while "good," "better," and "best" descriptions may point to Wi-Fi, 3G and 4G variants.

The list later appeared on several different websites, leading to disagreement over the particulars. MacRumors suggests the P101/P103/P105/P107 model numbers likely refer to separate connectivity options, and the "good" to "best" descriptions indicate the storage capacity. Alternatively, 9to5Mac reports that some of the SKUs may be tied to an updated full-size iPad with a Lightning connector. Apple is said to be preparing to produce the P101 model in the greatest quantities, possibly with a price tag as low as $249 to compete with Android devices such as the Nexus 7 and Kindle Fire HD. The company is expected to formally unveil the device at a media event next week.

An iPod touch is $299 but someone thinks the iPad mini will be $250? And they think Apple needs to compete on price? I'm not sure this person has ever heard of Apple.

8 gb holds dozens of your favorite albums, photos, and the library of congress.

If you want to read and surf, why buy 64 GB?
