T-Mobile attacks Verizon with 'Never Settle' 14-day service trial
Following the success of the iPhone 5s Test Drive promotion from last year, T-Mobile will be offering something similar to potential customers currently subscribed to Verizon. The "Never Settle" campaign will provide Verizon customers the ability to try out the carrier's network and service, by borrowing a smartphone from T-Mobile for two weeks at no charge.
Under the trial, Verizon customers port their number to T-Mobile and receive a new smartphone, while also holding onto their existing Verizon device. If the customer wants to stay after 14 days, T-Mobile will help pay off early termination fees of up to $650 or outstanding device payments, if the subscriber trades in their old phone and acquires a new device on a Simple Choice plan. If they don't want to switch, the loaned device is handed back to T-Mobile, with the carrier refunding any trial costs and service costs for starting back up with Verizon.
"Last week, I said we would hit right back at Verizon - I meant it," claims CEO and President of T-Mobile John Legere. "T-Mobile's 4G LTE network is the nation's fastest. Not faster for the price … just faster, period. With T-Mobile, you don't have to settle for trickery, gimmicks and carrier BS the way you do with Verizon. I'm so confident in our kick-ass network experience that we're footing the bill so Verizon customers can give T-Mobile a try."
The Never Settle trial will start from May 13, with sign-ups available via stores and the website until May 31.
