Hi all,

I have a first-gen Airport Express that has been gathering dust in my closet for some time. I was wondering if anyone can confirm for me if it can act as a wireless bridge (where the ethernet port would act as an output - to hook into a switch or a blu ray player)?

Thanks
-Mike

Yes I did try, but it doesn't help that Apple keeps product names identical when changing capabilities, so I have no way of knowing if the first-gen one will do it.

Just look at those links that date back to 2004 and describe how to do it.

The Wiki Article on AirPort Base Stations and AXs provides information down to the part number-which would be helpful if you were to try to search on Apple's support site. But the Wiki article points out that the original version (M9470LL/A, model A1084) CAN act as an Ethernet bridge. Check out the instructions for the CURRENT version of AirPort Assistant to see how to set this up. It ONLY works with an AirPort Base Station, by the way.

Frankly, your first post didn't indicate you'd done any research yourself, and if turtle hadn't asked if you'd done anything, someone else would have.
