Not sure if I post this here, but here goes.
I'm trying to activate the identd in OS X so that I can get on the IRC networks that require it. I did the change in the inetd.conf like you're supposed to, but the servers still say I need to activate it.
Anyone?

Presumably you changed ident to auth and restarted inetd ?
Thats all that is required, unless you have an /etc/hosts.allow or /etc/hosts.deny wrapper config file, or are using firewalling.
If the former, open the hosts.allow file and add a line:
auth : ALL
If the latter, contact your firewall admin to make sure you allow inbound tcp or udp on port 113.
Cheers,
Ben.
