Well the other day I went and opened my iMac to PUT new memory in it, and I noticed a few burn marks on the inside of the case, it looks as if someone held a lighter under neathe it for a few min. Has anyone who have opened their iMacs noticed any marks like these?

Should I be worried? is there a way to find the temp of the cpu and stuff?

Edit:

Forgot some info that might be useful.

I got the iMac the week it came out.
Its a 20" iMac G5 1.8 yada yada yada.

The burn marks were in there before I put the memory so I doubt thats it.

Everything else is stock.

They're not burns, it's dust from the airflow inside the machine.

How can it be dust, if it was dust I'd be able to whipe it off correct?

I don't know about dust but those are definitely not burn marks. It looks more like typical blemishes of the metal lining.
I wouldn't worry about them. As long as the machine is working fine just enjoy it. Don't look for something cosmetically challenged inside the machine to be an issue.
I mentioned before on a different post that Apple has built up this reputation for asthetically pleasing products and people tend to expect them to be flawless in appearance and then go crazy when they notice a flaw or 2 as if it's impossible for an Apple product to have any which just isn't realistic. Your iMac is still just a "machine" inside and out.

I've seen it on old computers, where the finest dust kind of affixed itself to the not-totally-smooth surface.

But now that I look at it again... yeah, I think that's just normal metalworking results. Nothing to be worried about. There's no way you could have had fire in there without the computer having catastrophically failed in something akin to a fireworks display.

Well they were not there the day I bought the machine is why I find that odd. But, 2 months later they appear. I'm just freaked cause my friend got the same machine the same week as me and his does not have them.
