K. Which computer do you think looks better?

In the left corner, we have the austrailian semi rare Macintosh 5500, in black shorts!

In the right corner, we have the one of a kind, custom 'original' frankeniMac, in green and black tribal!

FIGHT!

>ding ding!<

Just another shot.
I need to get a digicam so I can take a shot that really does her justice...
Please note these pics are of a 5400. I couldn't find a pic of the 5500 DE, which is more than semi-rare...

Ca$h - just you wait till I get my blue flame or white jolly roger decals on the side of that baby

I don't know...the black 5400 looks really cool and gothic, but the tribal print on the iMac is cool too. Hard to decide...

I'm gonna have to go with Cipher on this one.

The Black Mac is just too cool. It has style. Ca$h's iMac just has some stickers stuck to it. Did you do the Tribal thing with a Sharpie??

a sharpie?!?!? ok, I'm insulted. Read the damn frankeniMac post Raza. It took a long long time to do so, and there is an even MORE intricate design (read PAIN IN THE BUTT) under the handle, but it looks oh soo good. AND- those decals were installed on the INSIDE of the shell. INSIDE. Try to do that. heh.

Ca$h

PS: It's an iDock. I snagged it when I purchased the first parts iMac. Its basically a swivel and a USB/paralell/adb hub.

mainly because I've seen one those baby's up close.
Director's Edition 5500. Ciph's right, those photos just don't do justice to it.

having everything in Black is just... smooth.

Eew. Philips Nino. At first glance, I thought it was a cassiopia. Either way, it runs WINDOWS CE! EVIL EVIL EVIL! I am a dedicated Palm Vx user

I should post a pic of my workstation. It has a cdr, 2 phones, a lombard, an "ice" coloured trash can, a flourecent light, and, best of all, a Cube and TiBook Poster above it on the wall!

Currently, it is littered with Outpost.com paraphanalia that I dumped out of the box along with my rio 800.

i like my lombard's design, so, ciphers.

im also not extremely fond of weird logos that strike me as Microsoft BackOffice Server (or something thereof)

anyway... on with my life, and waiting for this rio to take its dear sweet time to recalibrate its battery.

Well, so far our Avid Aussie has 7 votes where as our Cantankerous Ca$h has three votes.

Cipher gets my vote, black is so damn cool. Simple, elegant and yet deeply moving. Make that 8 votes for Cipher.

Sorry but I have to go with Cipher here. First, the black Macs do rule. MacTV nostalgia and all that. Second, I just can't vote for someone who has nothing better to do with their time than take apart their iMac and stick some "design elements" on the inside of the case. And last, a Britney Spears calender? Please...

[Make that 9 for Cipher]

OK. If it's going to be a geekfest. No cameras allowed where I work, so we'll just run through the setup:
Dual G4 standard config except for the 512MB RAM, 9.1. Hooked into a Mitsubishi Diamond+ 9I 19" Monitor. My main machine.
G3 350, 2 6 GB drives, 320MB RAM running OSX Peanut Butter for developer stuff. It shares a 21" monitor with:
A Gateway Gp6 400- 256 MB RAM running Winders 2k Pro- fes-shun- al. A neccesary evil. Need it for AS400.
A PowerCenter Pro 225 for burning.
A PM 7500/100 for testing purposes.
I'll be asking for my Ti as soon as I finish typing the proposal. I am prepared for them to say "no", but I'm hoping they won't.
I'm a geek.
My home setup is far more modest. a rev. a iBook w/ 256MB RAM, a Beige G3 266, 320 MB RAM, 32MB ATR Rage Orion for game-age, extra 20 Gig Hard Drive, external firewire drive hooked in to share images, movies with the wife on her machine. I'm slightly less of a geek at home. Big picture of Mount Washington above the whole setup.

It was actually 2E14 and 1H39 (both builds of Public Beta). They do work with Mac OS 9.1, except for Classic. And soon it will be Mac OS X client 1.0.

Mindvision??????????? I am seriously insulted. Well, not really. Well, the truth is that I did post some information and I decided that I did not want to post it anymore so I removed it. Since I have a very slight sense of humor, I said that Apple Legal removed it so there!

Besides, I secretly work for Apple and at next MacWorld they are going to release [removed by Apple Legal]

It was that sad excuse for art you scrawled on the side that really swayed my vote. When I read that you thought that design was worthy of a tattoo I really felt sorry for you. That tribal thing has indeed come and gone. To put it on your arm this late in the game will no doubt give your friends second hand embarrassment. I hope for your sake you reconsider this very permanent decision, but actually this might be perfect for a clown like you.."duh, look at me I'm soooo cutting edge, lets go to a rave. Wait, adjust your pants so I can see your boxers..." ----you're such a lemming.

Its was that sad excuse for art you scrawled on the side that really swayed my vote.

Gee, somebody has PMS. Unfortunatly, your low intellect made you have quite a few WRONG assumptions. I don't 'sag' my pants, I'm white, and I know I'm white, so I wouldn't do that. And no, tribal tattoos aren't cutting edge, but they are very hip (take a look at MTVs spring break or something, more and more people are getting them, why? Because they are cool), and the beauty of tribal is I think it gets back to the basics. One color, and a design that holds such power and energy.

Take a nap and pull the stick outta your ass turd burglar.
