I use to use Update Agent by Insider Software. I'm not impressed with this product. What other programs are out there that will scan my system and update all my software for me? (besides Apple's Updater in the System Preferences)

I think that TechTracker (by the VersionTracker folks) does this, although I have not used it. Go to VersionTracker and search for it.

UpdateRadar is a nice update scanner application that uses the MacUpdate update database.

I'm not a fan of automatic updating. Suppose the update breaks something critical? It's much better to let some other suckers... er, brave adventurous types install updates first.
Remember the RAM-killing firmware update? Or the disk-wiping iTunes update?

Thanks guys. I tried out the 3 solutions recommended and Version Tracker Pro is by far THE BEST ONE!

Is it worth the price? I have thought about going for the bundle.

Actually, UpdateRadar is by far the better value. For a ONE TIME $12 fee, you get an application that matches VersionTracker's PRO application (which is $60/year), plus it doesn't crash nearly as much.

And you can get all of the VT Plus features from MacUpdate's website free of charge, plus a download history and custom layout options.

UpdateRadar all the way.
