Two PowerBooks: possible to use one as a second screen?

Would like to use the screen of one of my PowerBooks as a second screen, just as you can can with an external monitor.

Don't know if that's possible though.
Can it be harmfull for the video card?
Is the vga-port a two-way port?

Thanks!

You could use apple remote desktop to remotely control one of the machines from the other.

No that's not what I want: I want more screen space, like you can have with a second monitor.

That's a big N-O. I have NEVER seen any laptop from ANYONE double as a monitor for another computer. I don't think I ever will either.

Nope, sadly he's right. Maybe in 10-20 years, but doubtful...

Not really expensive if it worked.... older PBs are cheaper than LCD monitors

I don't know about that. Can you find a cheap older PB that costs less than a similarly sized, similarly old LCD?

The sum of the whole should be equal to the sum of the parts.

Unless you bought a new PowerBook because you old Lombard died, and then later decide to repair it, so you have two PB's.

Sell your Lombard on ebay. It should (nearly) get you the money to afford a new second display (of course not an Apple branded).
