That's the Adobe Flash plugin.
Nothing you can do about that really, except use the "Better Battery Life" power management setting which seems to throttle the CPU to a certain degree.

Off topic but curious... Why are you capitalizing every word? It's distracting.

This link explains very well the results of the "top" command. In short, you should pay attention to the two last columns, RSIZE and VSIZE, the Real size of memory used, and the Virtual, but the RSIZE is more important. The PID is the process' identification number, and COMMAND the process' name. So by reading the RSIZE number on the right, you can see which program (or process) is consuming the most memory.

You should also watch for the number of pageouts. The fewer the better (ideally 0). If you notice your system is paging out a lot, it would be a good idea to install more RAM, as the system has to use the hard disk to store information that should remain in RAM, making things slower.

0 Pageouts are unrealistic. Pageins should, however, outnumber pageouts if a system has sufficient RAM. And Activity Monitor is a better way to look at the info than top.

No, that changes thread title text to lowercase throughout, but doesn't affect body text. I TYPED THIS IN ALL UPPERCASE TO MAKE SURE I KNEW WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT. It's just odd...

I think there used to be an anti-caps filter that would do that if the whole message was in caps, but it doesn't seem to happen anymore. Maybe it was always just the titles, though. At any rate, it looks like he just titlecased his post.

Not if you have more RAM than you actually need. I'll often have 0 pageouts for a few days after a reboot -- until I pop into work and need to boot up a few VMs.
