Sometimes when I close my iBook, and then re-open it, (it doesn't matter how long it's been closed, sometimes a few minutes, other times, its been hours) i get a screen that tells me I need to re-start my computer. Why does it do this? Sometimes I have important programs running and I can't have this happening. Does anyone have a similar problem or any ideas to fix this?

PS. I did use search and google - nothing was related to my problem.

PSS. Help a n00b.

Sounds like a kernel panic to me. There a lot of threads about those, check the sticky at the top of this forum.

Run the Apple Hardware Test and see if something comes up. If you get repeated kernel panics, then your memory might be faulty.
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.

Good those guys are the best for helping out. If apple finds something wrong with it and your ibook is still under warrenty then it will be fixed or replaced for free. Hope they can fix it though!
