So far, I haven't really had many problems with iTunes 4. I had the no anti-aliased text problem, but I fixed that through the system.

The only problem I've had so far, and it's a big one for me, is that when I try to play any song with Japanese titles, artists, etc. id3 tags, the titles get corrupted when I double click on them. It also happens if I try to drag some cover art into the window with a Japanese song selected. If I re-type the titles, they get saved correctly, but it sure is a pain in the ass. I've got several GB worth of Japanese music and I sure don't want to have to re-type every song title every time it happens.

I'm hoping there is an easy preference fix for this. Or if not, I hope iTunes 4.0.1 is on it's way.

Other than that, I like what I've seen so far. I'm looking forward to re-ripping my favorite albums into AAC. Thanks Apple!

Can't say I've experienced that problem...
what version are your ID3 tags?
mine are v2.2 or newer (2.3, 2.4) - perhaps having an older version is what's causing that funniness?

I'm not sure what version they are. What is iTunes default?

I'll try re-ripping something tonight and see what happens.

Woah. I don't think I've had that problem, but I'll check when I get home. It would really suck to have to retype all the Japanese stuff, and probably the Korean and Russian in that case, as well.

As Nathan Adams suggested, it appears that having an old id3 tag version is the problem. I converted all of my tags to 2.4, the latest version in iTunes 4 and I was able to add cover art and play all my Japanese mp3s with no problem.

Now to re-encode all of my CDs into AAC...

Thanks guys.

Yeah, I had that problem once. It's just an issue with old ID3 tags and Unicode support.
