Newbie here ...

I have several Macintosh labs and use Netboot to reimage the computers from time to time. They are G5 PPCs and Intel Mac Pros. Some of them will not Netboot - when I press the N key while starting up they don't go to the usual Netboot screen - they just boot normally from local hard drive. Also, when I select "Network Startup" in the "Startup Disk" Preference pane, nothing happens! Happens on both models - PPC and Intel.

Any ideas on how to troubleshoot are appreciated.

Thanks, Mbote

May be a DHCP issue: if the system doesn't acquire a valid IP address it won't be able to see anything off the local segment. Using verbose mode during boot should help identify if that's the issue.
