Site's been s-l-o-w lately. I'm having the same problems at work and home, so I know it's not just Comcast being retarded.

Has anyone else noticed pages taking an inordinate amount of time to load?

Sure. And I've complained about it in the forum bugs thread too.

No response. No change.

Eh, just because you are not in the loop, doesn't mean nothing is being done.

I never said 'nothing happened'. I said there had been no reply and the server behavior hadn't changed. I never commented on what was happening behind the scenes. What are you trying to imply?

Just came here because a day of this seems kind of strange. Any feedback from the hamsters? Are they on strike and ghporter is manning the exercise wheels himself?

Compressed air? Glad to see there haven't been budget cuts in spite of the flagging economy.

You're pointing out the obvious. As I already told you I (and I guess everybody else here) knows it doesn't mean that. Nobody ever said anything like that. I don't understand what it is you are worried about?

And FTR, brief != bitter.

Holy hell, Simon, calm the fsck down. It doesn't appear that Rumor is worried about anything at all - you're the one who came in here and posted a little micro-rant about how you've reported server problems before and not seen anything done about it. You don't have to attack him for that, m'kay?

All Rumor said was that while it might not seem like anything has been done, there's a distinct possibility that the server admins are working on finding and fixing the cause of the hardcore lagging we've been seeing in recent weeks (months? it's all the same to me).

Nobody's "worried" about anything. Don't get your panties in a wad, okay? It's *really* not that big a deal.

You're wrong, I'm sorry. Everybody who reads the thread can see what was actually said.

And after seeing the 'fsck' and the 'holy hell' in your post it appears to me that you are the one who should be doing the calming down.

I think we all need to calm down.

I understand how these sorts of episodes can lead to panic and turmoil, but we must not be scared. We must confront danger by looking it square in the eye and saying "**** you, danger!". Was the ocean crossed because Columbus was afraid of danger? Did Barry Bonds hit home runs because he was afraid of danger? Were we afraid to write the CONSTITUTION? Do circus freaks fear danger when they do freaky things?

We all crave a little stability in life, we all yell at the cat when it is taken away from us. Yet, we mustn't forget that we are not going to find happiness and prosperity when we are not calm and relaxed, taking on life's challenges in a calm and collected manner as life's circumstances unravel and our journey through it presents its many challenges to us.

We must go on.

I don't know why everyone is getting on Simon's case, I've been reading this thread from the beginning and his posts have not been confrontational nor argumentative.

Thank you. They certainly weren't intended to be confrontational. I did try to point that out though. Anyway, no biggie.

Your reply both reassures me and gives that certain "baby-blanket warmth" I've been craving. Thank you.

To get this thread back on track, its seems the server issues are continuing, as I keep getting the infamous server busy error.

I think that tomorrow, the admins should replace the standard "Server Busy" page with this JPEG:

The best thing about this is that his camera says "TV" on it, like it is a special camera that only works for broadcasting TV programs or something
