Hi there guys i need some help with page numbers in Indesign. I am redoing my alice in wonderland book, and would like the page numbers to start when the chapter starts, not from the start of the book.

So at the moment the page number on the chapter is like page six and not 1.

I have tried to use control+shift to try a delete the box but the numbers don't move on they stay at the current page number.

I am using CS5 btw, don't know if that makes a differance.

From the Pages palette, control click on chapter one page one, and then click on the last item in the box that pops up, Numbering and Section Options. You'll want to create a new section on the first page of the chapter. It may tell you to change the numbering for the other pages first, to a,b,c,d or something.

You can also create a new master page for the non-chapter elements with no page page number box.
