Can latest ATI drivers be installed on MBP under Windows XP?

Will the lastest ATI Catalyst drivers work within XP on a Intel Mac? I ask because in the past the Mac version of ATI and Nvidia chipsets had a different ROM than the Windows version.

No. You must use the Boot Camp ATI drivers.

That isn't very scalable. Any rumors on how Apple plans on dealing with this?

I would think that they have no plans to deal with it - they wont support windows on their systems.

Not sure about the latest ATI drivers, but I was successful in installing the latest Omega ATI drivers, based on Catalyst 6.3, on my iMac 17" (1.83 GHz, 128MB X1600).
So, that might be promising. You can find Omega at:
