after installing two new 512 RAM modules in my 800 DVI, i began having random complete freezes. when i booted into os 9 i got a message saying my memory cache was bad. i tried reinstalling the old ram and still got the errors. the apple hardware diagnostics cd also produces an error.

i brought the 'book to the apple store and off it went for a new logic board. before it left, i put the new memory back in. i didn't mention that i had done an upgrade.

my question is, could the new memory have caused this failure? i am certain that there were no issues with me being properly grounded. should i be scared to put the new memory back in once i get the machine back (hopefully tues. b4 macworld)? any ideas would be appreciated.
