How do you get an appoint with a Mac Genius at the NYC SoHo store?

It used to be 1st come, 1st served for the genius bar. But now I think it's my appointment only.

I went to apple.com and it said I could only make an appointment if I had a procare card.

And when you call the store, they say you can't make an appointment over the phone.

So if you don't have a procare card, how do you make an appointment at the genius bar?

Should I just go to Tekserve instead?

Or call apple on the phone?

You can go into the store and sign in at a computer, or you can buy Apple ProCare for $100 per year, and you can make an appointment 7 days in advance.

Why not just call Apple and ask?
