Hey hey. Just got a new MacBook Pro to replace my maligned MacBook. In the past, I haven't had problems cloning drives (Carbon Copy Cloner) within relatively recent generations of hardware. This time though, there's the new 802.11n AirPort hardware!

Aside from the obvious new/changed items related to the new AirPort stuff in the Utilities folder, think I can get away with a clone from the MacBook to the new MacBook Pro? Figure I'll manually move over those new AirPort items after it's done...

TIA!

Isn't logic swell? It gives answers without really answering anything!

IMO a new box deserves a fresh start and cloning all the detritus from an older drive is a bad idea. I recommend fresh installs of everything, repairing permissions prior to and after installations.

Migration Assistant is as `hard' and time-consuming as cloning. I'd go for the fresh install and MA, hasn't let me down ever since 10.0.
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.
