i'm curious, but every black person i've seen with white sneakers on. How come they look as they're brand spanking new, they're so white just like the day you bought em. Is their a secret to this? I'm not being racist here, but i only notice this on black people. I've never seen shoes kept that clean in my life, white shoes that is. so if anyone knows the secret please let me know!

They take aborted fetuses from white woman, grind them up, throw in a little crack, and make a polish out of it. It works wonders. All black people do it. ALL of them.

There are some black people ... especially those who are into hip-hop fashion ... who consider sneakers to be an significant part of their appearance. Consequently, they clean their sneakers on a regular basis. Windex, 409 cleaner, or whatever. The objective is to keep the sneakers looking new. And considering how much they can cost these days I can understand why. It's no different than how a guy who wears a suit and tie everyday will shine his dress shoes to keep his shoes and overall appearance looking nice.

Did you ever think of asking? "Dude, how do you keep your sneaks so clean?" would probably do it. I wouldn't mention that it's only something you notice with black people, because that's gonna get taken the wrong way, no matter how non-offensive you think you are being. MIght just as well say "How do you people keep your sneakers so clean? You negroes simply amaze me!"

For what ever it's worth, I use Mr. Clean's magic eraser on mine and then give them a rub with saddle soap to condition the leather. Gets them nice and white like new. Granted, I don't do this often, because I don't care all that much.

A friend in High School (ie Back in the Day™) explained that he not only was hyperaware of the state of their whiteness at all times, but creases were also a huge concern, so he wore three pairs of socks to keep the leather nice and taut. Even in the summer.

This was common practice.

Of course I'm kidding. Honestly though we don't have a high black population in Winnipeg. Though I did notice that all the black people I know had really bright runners. That said all of them were like yuppy black kids who easily had the cash to have several really nice pairs.

At one of the shoe stores in our local mall, they sell this foaming cleaner. Spray on, wipe off, they look brand new. $5 for a aerosol bottle, not bad.

I have around six or seven pairs of white sneakers and all of them but on are really clean. How did I do it? i cleaned them. It's not too difficult if you get into a routine to clean your shoes a few times a week. It almost becomes second nature.

I worked with a guy who ran 3 pairs of shoes on a daily basis. He'd come in wearing slippers "house shoes," put on his work boots (dirty as hell), and at the end of the day he'd change his socks and put on his whites. He had wooden shoe-stretchers (like when shoes are on display at the store) to keep them uncreased.

He also stated that he perfected his 'pimp strut' so that there was minimal ankle movement - minimizing the creasing. And, when we asked about the whites being so white, he'd say "because I take my shoes off before I run from the po-lice."

i also think that white people own less pairs of shoes than black people.

white dudes own one maybe 2 pairs of sneakers, and wear them with everything. black people own shoes that go with certain outfits, so they have more pairs, so they wear them more often, so they get less drrrty.
