usr/libexec/MiniTerm.app

Is this new with Jaguar, and what is it for?
Nasrudin sat on a river bank when someone shouted to him from the opposite side: "Hey! how do I get across?" "You are across!" Nasrudin shouted back.

it's been there since 10.0 (don't know about the public beta) -- never got it to launch either, but the nibs look a bit weird; one of them doesn't even have an apple menu but has the "about" in the "help" menu...

i'd also be curious to find out, have always wondered.

Hmm, it doesn't seem to work in 10.2, but if I remember right, it functioned as sort of an "invisible terminal" in previous versions - things you typed would go to the invisible "black screen" console that's hidden behind the Window Server, if that makes any sense at all...

I think that if you ran the popconsole task that's in the CDIS folder on the install CD, that you could type things in MiniTerm and see them show up.

Ticking sound coming from a .pkg package? Don't let the .bom go off! Inspect it first with Pacifist. Macworld - five mice!

Ah, okay. Never mind my comment then.

I guess I haven't messed with the thing since 10.0, so I could be a little mixed up.
