I bought a Motorola SYN9006A bluetooth headset for use with iChat on my PBG4/1.5 and I'm having a lot of trouble with it.

At first I had a lot of problems pairing it. Once I got it paired, I got errors trying to set it as an audio device, saying that it couldn't find the headset. I finally got it to work, once, after lots of trying various different things. When I tried it again later, every app that tried to send audio to it froze, so hard that I couldn't even kill -9 them. Waiting for them to die does nothing; I have iChat and the program that handles the menu extras in the upper right corner dead and frozen right now.

I've tried this same thing on my father's powerbook, which is a PBG4/1.33. Both computers have all of the latest bluetooth software and the 1.1 firmware installed. Since the same thing happens on both computers, I don't think this is a hardware problem on the computer end.

Is it possible that my headset is defective? Or is it possible that this model of headset doesn't work with the Mac? Even so, programs shouldn't freeze beyond recovery, no matter what happens. I can't even turn off bluetooth to try to jolt things back into action without freezing the program I use to try to turn it off.

If I can't get it to work, I'll probably send it back as defective, but I'd like to make sure there isn't anything that I'm missing before I do that. Does anybody have any ideas? Thanks in advance.
